Super Junior-K.R.Y., sub-unit of popular idol group Super Junior, have been chosen to sing the theme song for the new season of Mnet's music competition "SuperstarK," according to the show's producer Mnet.
On Tuesday, Mnet announced in a press release that the theme song sung by Super Junior-K.R.Y. will play starting from the show's preliminary round in Busan on April 24 till its wrap-up in November.
"We are grateful to sing the theme song for a popular television show and we hope that many people appreciate music too," the members of Super Junior-K.R.Y. were quoted as saying.
"SuperstarK," the equivalent of American Idol" in the United States, first took off in 2009 and made stars out of winners Seo In-guk from season 1 and Huk Gak of season 2.
They have held a number of concerts in Japan and Taiwan last year and participated in the soundtracks for entertainment show dramas in the country.
